Plein Aire painting is a rich and immersive artistic practice that goes beyond capturing a visual scene. It's about experiencing the environment, connecting with nature, and expressing a moment in time through the artist's unique perspective.
Hinovations Art Gallery invites participants ages 5 to 12 and adults to join us for our First Plein Aire NaturArt Adventure Challenge. The Event will take place at Hinovations Art Gallery located at 1009 Laurel Ave in McAllen, on Friday, March 8 from 4:00pm to 6:30pm. We will be making Peanut Butter Bird Feeders and engaging in Plein Aire Drawing and Painting. These activities will take about 30 to 40 minutes.
Participants will be Guided by Professional Artists as they create their Nature Composition.

Please be advised that we will be handling peanut butter. We welcome additional recycled paper tubes to add to our recycled bin. Dont forget to bring your binoculars and bird guide books for some bird watching.

Step one
Find location and pay Activity Fee of $10 per participant. If you have previously paid via Hinovations Website, then please Check in with Online Receipt. You will be given a Badge to present for Activities.
Step two
Participants will make a Bird Feeder using recycled paper tubes, peanut butter and bird seeds and string. Please be aware of allergies, as we will be handling peanut butter. We welcome recycled paper tubes for our recycle bins. Participants are encouraged to hand their Bird Feeders at home and to Look Out for Birds. Bring Bird Guides, Binoculars and your Sketchbook.
Step three
Participants will use one of the areas to create a Plein Aire or Outdoor Painting. Artists will guide participants by teaching them to use a View Finder, Setting Up on ideal conditions and Sketching a Landscape. The essesce of Plein Aire is to capture the moment in real time and to enjoy the process.
