Step one

Download the guide

The nature journaling guide is a pdf that tells what nature journaling is and how you can do it, with a sample page that includes writing prompts.

Step two

Find a spot that appeals to you and notice things

Plan to stop for a bit, perhaps sit quietly and "unplugged" from phones or other technology. Notice what you see, hear, smell, feel, etc. and write or draw (as described in the guide).

Step three

Visit some place in nature

Come to Sheri Capehart Nature Preserve or any place in nature that you like. Plan to spend 30 minutes to an hour. Bring a notebook/journal, pen and/or pencils. Dress comfortably and bring water.

Earn your badge!
