Participants will delve into the world of mountain lions, learning about their diet, adaptations, and role in the ecosystem. A hands-on animal clay track activity will allow them to create and analyze prints, fostering a deeper understanding of wildlife tracking.

Step one
Download and review the Mountain Lion Fact Sheet to learn about their habitat, diet, adaptations, and role in the food web.
Step two
Prepare your clay (or playdough) and flatten it to create a smooth surface for your track.
Step three
Using a mountain lion paw print template or by hand-sculpting, press the paw shape into the clay to form the track. Let it dry or cure.
Step four
Compare your track to real wildlife track photos and discuss how scientists use tracks to monitor and study mountain lions in the wild.
